About the Project
Getting a new application into production at scale involves a lot of moving parts — Helm charts, Dockerfiles, CI pipelines, cluster selection, ArgoCD, ECR, pull requests. For experienced engineers this is manageable. For new hires or non-developers, it's a wall.
LaunchpadAI removes that wall. It's an AI-powered onboarding engine built on top of Alchemy's ComputeV2 platform that turns a plain-English description of what you want to deploy into a fully production-ready Kubernetes deployment — repositories, Dockerfiles, CI pipelines, Helm configurations, and cluster placement decisions, all generated automatically and fully compliant with existing GitOps workflows.
What You'll Work On
You'll contribute to building an AI agent that sits on top of ComputeV2's GitOps model and automates the most friction-heavy parts of the deployment process. At a high level, this includes:
- A natural language interface that interprets developer intent and maps it to infrastructure decisions
- Automated generation of repositories, Dockerfiles, Helm configurations, and CI/CD pipelines
- Intelligent cluster placement logic that selects the right environment based on workload requirements
- A RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) system that learns from existing deployments to ensure new apps follow established patterns
- Full compliance with ArgoCD and GitOps workflows — the system never bypasses the source of truth
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Familiarity with APIs, automation, and working with developer tooling
- Interest in AI/LLM systems, agent architectures, or developer platforms
- English proficiency required — written and spoken communication will be in English throughout the internship
- Strong curiosity and eagerness to learn across a broad technical stack
What You'll Learn
This project is the closest thing to a full platform team experience available in a single internship. You'll come away with practical, hands-on exposure to AI agents and LLM orchestration, GitOps and ArgoCD, Kubernetes and Helm, CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure, RAG systems, observability, and security and governance fundamentals — skills that are increasingly in demand across the industry.
