As part of the Microchip Linux team, you will be in charge of the software developments and their publication in open-source communities. Developments start with getting our MPU products supported by the Linux kernel, including all the board bring up aspects and the development of drivers for the new peripherals, in any case always at the limit between hardware and software. Developments go further by porting or creating demonstrations of applications and technologies that Microchip targets with its MPU products, including Automotive, Security up to Payment Terminal, Graphics and Human-Machine Interfaces, Wireless, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

The Microchip Linux Team has also an important role to play in the Total System Solution strategy of the company, destined to promote Linux solutions not only for MPUs but instead for as many parts of the Microchip portfolio as possible. Consequently, the scope of the developments might extend to external devices like Memories, Power Management IC and Power Monitors, Ethernet/CAN transceivers, Ethernet Switches, WiFi and BlueTooth devices. The workplace is an international and multi-site environment.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Computing Science or Electronic Engineering Master’s degree required C is a must, C++ appreciated First experience with Embedded Linux and/or Linux driver development First experience with open-source communities, recognized as a contributor of an open source project Capable to work in an international team Good communication skills English-fluent
